I have extensive knowledge of both Large and Small scale printing. This includes the entire process from set-up to printing. I have experience with both in-house printing as well as vendor management. I understand how crucial a print can be for both the company and the customer.
The set-up and as well as printing for large scale printing can be very complex. Over the course of my time at Roll-A-Shade I created quite a library of different settings to be used for different fabrics to the best effect. I had the idea to print small samples of all the colors and fabrics Roll-A-Shade offers so that sales, marketing and project managers would be able see exactly how that fabric would print, without waiting.
Any kind of printing with horizontal mullions requires us to use the measurements from the technician to place the art exactly where the customer want it go. Then send a mock-up for the customer to approve and to assure them how the final product will look. In the above example it was especially crucial, as the full-bleed color would show white if the art set up was incorrect.
One of the most complex set-ups I have done, is the set up for when there the image is tiled across multiple windows and therefore multiple shades. Using the measurements received from the technician or customer, we can then calculate the space between the prints to make the larger picture look correct when viewing it. I then create a mock-up to send to the customer so they can approve it and see exactly what the print will look like when installed.
I have extensive experience in print media. This includes brochures, sales binders, price books, instructions, schematics, forms, etc. In my current position, the Graphics Department is responsible for any and all materials that all departments may need. This has led to a much wider expanse of knowledge in many different practical needs for design.
One of the largest projects I lead was the complete redesign of of the Sales materials and binder. Working closely with the Marketing team, we created this modern binder and materials that reflect our brand
My graphics team is also in charge of our sister Company's graphics. They have a different set of requirements, leaning towards residential instead of commercial. I also lead the recent redesign of their print materials and binder
Due to the large number of technicians all over the country as well as offering to allow the customer to install and measure their own projects, a large library of instructions were needed. I personally changed the way the instructions were created with my knowledge and experience with 3D drawings.
Since Roll-A-Shade did not have detailed part descriptions or part numbers of our own for inventory department I was asked if we could use 3D models to create schematics. This was a fantastic project to once again use my skills with the models and benefit the company to create systems that were not in place before and in some ways not able to be fully implemented due to the lack of resources.
At PSM Marketing we were tasked with creating postcards that would be printed and then mailed to customers of our client. These clients were most often a power sports dealership of some kind. These cards had a variety of styles due to the preferences of the dealership. Generally these cards were meant to attract customers to come into the dealership but in different ways. Some were to promote a specific event or show, while others were for a promotion of some sort. Digital ads for their website, Facebook, Instagram (if they so choose) and emails were also produced in order to promote the campaign.
I have also been put in charge of creating branding for small objects. This was completed by the use of the Mimayki UJF MkII 6042 UV ink printer, in-house. This can include printing designs on a remote or a customers logo.
